The main objective of this course is to help students develop confidence in speaking publicly and academically. Students will also learn how to listen critically, responsively and objectively. Students will master presenting familiar topics in a smooth, understandable and organized way in both prepared and impromptu speeches. Students will also study how to inform and persuade others. These oral skills will be applied in group discussions and debates.
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to do the followings: 1. Have a general understanding of the biblical genres. 2. Be able to read and analyze biblical stories as masterpieces of literature. 3. Understand the influence that the Bible has on western culture and literature. 4. Be able to identify and explain the meaning of the biblical allusions used in literary classics.
