This elective ESP course is offered in response to FLLD’s curriculum reform as well as students’ call for ESP courses. It is aimed for (1) developing course takers’ awareness of industrial linkage; (2) sharpening their soft skills set and job interview skills. It introduces big companies’ recruitment processes, analyzes major types of job interviews, and provides step-by-step guide to interview preparation. Students taking this course will familiarize themselves with varied types of job interview thru mock interview activities. They will sharpen interview skills not merely as an interviewee but also as an interviewer. The course design also allows course takers to gain confidence in future job search. Types of job interviews to be taught in this class include the following: panel interviews, one-on-one interviews, behavioral interviews, competency-based interviews, stress interviews, and teleconferencing interviews.
