教育目標

In this course, we will delve into contemporary ethical problems in the field of applied ethics, which involves the critical examination of ethical issues and dilemmas that arise in practical contexts. This includes identifying and evaluating the moral dimensions of actions, policies, and practices, and finding ways to resolve ethical conflicts. By studying applied ethics, students can develop a range of valuable skills, including critical thinking, analytical thinking, and the ability to identify and evaluate ethical arguments, and can provide students with a deeper understanding of the ethical dimensions of contemporary issues and problems, and help them to think more deeply about the moral implications of their actions and decisions. While the main focus of the course will be on applied ethics, we will also consider how these issues relate to normative ethics, which deals with the standards of right and wrong, and metaethics, which deals with the nature and foundations of ethical thought. At the beginning of the course, students will have the opportunity to vote on two of the following topics to be covered in the course: Climate Change, Robot Ethics, Space Exploration, The City, The Ethics of Food, Human Reproduction, Immigration, or Gun Control.
