教育目標

1.Students will improve cartographic literacy. 2.Students will learn to create, collect, display, edit, and present both qualitative and quantitative data in a GIS. 3.Students will learn to use GIS to get information about features and interpret feature relationships. 4.Students will learn to analyze spatial data for scientific presentations and reports. 5.Students will learn about and interact with the people and places of Taichung City and Taiwan during data collection trips and analyses.

This course will require students to use stable, freely available, and open-source software in applied project work. A personal computer or access to a computer on campus is necessary. A cell phone, while not required, would be very useful for the collection of data in the field.
