教育目標

Introduction to Writing: Food & Identity is a genre-specific writing course that fulfills the Identity requirement of Tunghai’s International College. In addition, you will master the writing and research skills needed to succeed in an English-language university (narrative, research, analysis, and argument). You will explore how food, cooking, eating, and dining intersect with your personal and cultural identity, and you will study personal essays, interviews, and evidence-based features. At the end of this course, you will: -Master academic writing for this course and future courses -Demonstrate the foundations of contemporary food writing -Expand your understanding of how food and writing are tools for sharing, celebrating, and understanding personal and cultural identity -Embrace writing as a process, including prewriting, writing, and rewriting -Produce a food narrative, an interview report, an annotated bibliography, and a research project (which may be a paper or five-minute video).
