教育目標

Sustainable Design is a holistic and integral view of environmental design. This course presents basic technical information, strategies, and a practical, step-by-step approach for sustainable building projects. Clear and relatable projects illustrate how to identify the factors that reduce energy use, solve specific sustainable design problems, develop holistic design solutions, and address the social and cultural aspects of sustainable design. Case studies and project are implemented especially for sustainable products to meet the teaching objectives. After completing this course, students can use all the knowledge to the relevant courses including: projects, energy process design, industrial ecology, advanced sustainable design and development knowledge. The connotation of the lectures includes: (1) Three -dimensional (3D) modeling, (2) Model life cycle use with the building, from predesign to demolition, (3) Interoperability with consultants and their computer-aided design (CAD) platforms (4) Dynamic links between the 3D model and the construction documents (BIM, Building Information Model) (5)Photorealistic rendering and raytracing (6)Parametric modeling, both input and output (7) Clash detection (8)Energy analysis (9)Cost analysis (10) Four-dimensional (4D) construction phasing and schedule management. The course meets the following aims: •How SketchUp fits into sustainable development and energy efficiency. •Covers building information model (BIM) in Revit such as: building location strategies, building envelopes and structures, integration of passive and active systems, green materials, energy saving and project presentation. •Examines cultural factors, social equity, ecological systems, and aesthetics •Provides diverse student exercises that vary by climate, geography, setting, perspective, and typology •Learn how to combine innovative approaches and techniques to solve further problems creatively in AI.
