Political economy originally was the term for studying production, buying and selling, and their relations with law, custom, and government. In line with the discussion, the course aims at: a. 本課程關注於政治與經濟因素之間的交互作用，是如何影響國家的出現、政策的制定、政體的變遷、經濟發展、福利政策、收入不平等與重分配、國際衝突、內戰等等。期末也將會介紹國際政治經濟學(IPE)相關概念 學期初期會先著重於政治學研究方法上的介紹，爾後再進入各大主題，希望同學在修習這門課程之後，能夠對政治經濟學有更全面性的了解，並且能對現實政策發展批判性的觀點。
