At the end of this course, you will be able to • Describe the diversity of roles that managers play. • Describe key features of managerial decision-making that differ from everyday decision-making. • Recognize common barriers to effective managerial decision-making. • Recognize common barriers to effective group decision-making. • Distinguish the major schools of thought that have shaped Management as a field of study. • Recognize the connection between a country’s culture and traits common to managers in that country. • Understand the many ways in which a firm can choose to “internationalize.” • Describe the most common types of organizational charts. • Recognize how organizational design may evolve as a firm grows. • Distinguish the forces in a firm’s external environment from those in its internal environment. • Recognize how environmental forces shape a firm’s competitive strategy. • Understand strategy as a top-down process in which the firm’s mission and vision shape the actions of employees at all levels.

課程概述

To stay out in front, today’s business managers must have a solid knowledge of management and good command of English. This course is designed to equip students with the state of the art knowledge of the modern business world and to enhance student’s business English ability. We will read a variety of articles to help students gain insights about the most recent development of the industry, market, company, product, finance, strategy, leadership, and innovation, etc.
