此課程開設之目的，在使學生能對微生物實驗方法有充分認識，未來能靈活運用這些觀念與方法於微生物學相關學術領域，如生態保育、臨床醫學、遺傳工程、分子生物學或甚至是跨學科的範疇。藉認識地球上微尺度的眾多生物，而能探索肉眼無法看見的生命現象，進而認知生命尺度的廣闊。

This course aims at providing an understanding of the principles of analytical chemistry and demonstrating how these principles can be applied to environmental sciences. Students will be able to find the relevance of chemistry to environmental analysis and to apply their knowledge to the qauntification and qualification of contaminants in the real world.
