In-class preparation & participation 15 If I record you absent for more than 3 classes or conferences (including any leave of absence), you may fail the class.
In-class Presentation 25 Students are required to deliver an in-class presentation before each formal oral presentation.
Written Assignment #1 10 This assignment is required when conducting the 2nd oral assignment.
Oral Presentation (#1-3) 50 In some oral presentations, students are required to provide visual aids or PowerPoint slides.

Oral Training 2 is a second-year required course and builds on the English-language skills developed in Oral Training 1. This course focuses primarily on using spoken English for academic purposes, such as group discussions and delivering oral presentations. The course continues to stress accuracy in speaking and writing and emphasizes skills and strategies to improve the ability of students to communicate in English. Studens also learn how to analyze and strengthen their spoken English. The general goal of the course is to increase the academic English language proficiency to a high-intermediate level in speaking. This course is taught together with Composition 2.

This course aims to help students develop and strengthen their speaking ability. By the end of the semester, they will be able to (1) master the two important components of a successful speech: physical elements and speaking dynamics; (2) tell a short story clearly and fluently; (3) conduct an interview using techniques such as preparing questions, getting more information, giving encouragement, asking for repetition and clarification, restating, and interrupting; (4) paraphrase and summarize the ideas of others in a group discussion; and (5) give an instruction / demonstration speech.Oral Training 2 is a second-year required course and builds on the English language skills developed in Oral Training 1.
