使學生進一步瞭解環境工程領域中相關微生物種類、功能及影響其生長的條件外，並強調微生物之鑑定，厭氧性微生物之培養及生質能源之生產，並探討與公共衛生有關的病源性微生物問題，同時介紹分子生物學在環境工程上之應用。
The main objectives of this course is to understand the role of microorganisms in environmentally relevant processes including biodegradation of pollutants, biogeochemical cycling and wastewater treatment.
