This intermediate economics course aims to help students to deepen their understanding of the economy at the macro level. Focus is placed on the functioning of the macroeconomy, of which the temporal dimension (from the short run, the medium run, through to the long run) and the spatial dimension (from the closed economy to the open economy) are examined with equal weights. Essential concepts and analytic tools are presented with a view to encouraging students to strengthen their capability of both explaining and predicting development in the global macroeconomy today.
