English:This course serves as an introduction to vertebrate paleontology. In addition to learning the names and significance—both geological and evolutionary—of key fossil groups, we’ll also explore fossil assemblages found locally as case studies. The goal is to help students understand how fossil evidence contributes to building phylogenetic relationships among organisms, how it shapes the way we think about biological classification systems today, and where this traditional field fits within the broader scientific landscape.
