The objectives of this course is to provide students a broader view of physics and mathematics on a diversity of subjects. Each semester a few on-line courses, on various subjects of physics or mathematics, will be selected from platforms like edX or coursera. Under the supervision of the instructor, students are guided to complete and pass the on-line courses during the semester. Questions arise from the on-line materials or quizzes will be answered during the classroom discussion and the students progress will be closely followed. Midterm and final examinations will be carried out in the classroom for precise evaluation. The students are expected to develop the ability to self-motivate, which will be essential for future life-long career.
