訓練學生有隨機試驗及機率空間的概念。�提供學生機率論的基本知識,作為爾後進一步探討隨機現象,諸如隨機過程、等候理論等之工具。

In this course, we will introduce the fundamental theory, concepts and applications of probability. The content of this course includes sample space and events, axioms of probability, combinatorial methods, joint probability, conditional probability and independence, the multiplication rule, Bayes' formula, continuity of probability, discrete and continuous random variables, the cumulative distribution function, the probability density function, moments, expectation, variance, covariance, correlation coefficients, inequalities, limit theorems, consistency and the central limit theorem.
