This course is designed to help students learn travel skills, knowledge and ways to design their travel plan. First, a variety of travel-related contents, information and conversations will be taught in class. Then, students work in pairs or groups to practice conversation through role-play or presentation. Later, some frequently encountered travel hassles or problems will be discussed and students will be challenged to figure out the solution. After they obtain enough travel information and skills, they will start to design their travel plan. For example, students have to arrange travel details such as flight bookings and hotel reservations as well as transport options and daily trips. Finally, they have to present their travel and budget plan in class.
On completion of the course, students should be able to 1. design their overseas travel plan; 2. book flight tickets, make hotel reservations, and arrange transportation; 3. ask direction, negotiate prices, and order meals by themselves; and 4. to solve problems or ask for help while on the road.
