「大二英文」是一個以學習者為中心的模組化課程。針對學生個人學習興趣及相關系所之專業需求，開設四大模組課程，分別為「職涯與專業」、「日常溝通」、「多元文化」以及「自我表達技巧」。四大模組分別由具有共同核心目標但涵蓋不同主題之課程所建構而成。所有的課程均以學期為單位，學生可以根據個別興趣及需求，於上、下學期選擇兩門不同的模組課程。本課程將以25人小班制進行互動式教學，結合討論、展演及實作等各類學習活動，讓學生能在更多元、自主的學習語境中，具體強化其英語文溝通能力。 本課程屬於「多元文化」模組，因應全球化時代的來臨與多元語境融入英語學習的新趨勢，引導學生在學習英文的過程中，體驗不同文化現象，培養多元視角之世界觀，進而完備其成為世界公民之基本素養。 The SENM program is a student-centered module-based program which offers students choices and small, interactive classes. The program encourages students to tailor their English learning to their specific needs and interests by offering four semester-based modules: Career and Profession, Daily Communication, Multiculturalism, and Self-Expression Skills. Additionally, within each of the four modules, there are different themes, or topics, around which each course‘s curriculum is built. Each SENM student can choose two different module courses in one academic year according to their needs and interests. The program’s small class size (no more than 25 students) means that a variety of class activities such as discussions, role plays, and presentations are an integral part of the program. This specific course belongs to the Multiculturalism Module. This module provides students with opportunities to experience different cultural phenomena. It helps students to cultivate multiple global perspectives and to prepare them to be global citizens. Course Objectives: On completion of the course, students should be able to 1) provide real-life examples of social and cultural diversity; 2) demonstrate their multicultural awareness and appreciation; 3) use idiomatic expressions acquired in the course; and 4) express their opinions on diversity issues more confidently.

【主題:改變世界的人】: 本課程透過介紹不同領域中影響世界的重要人物，帶領學生閱讀真實人物故事，了解他們的文化背景以及他們如何改變社會、文化、政治、藝術與環境。每個主題聚焦一位世界知名人物，例如知名導演、企業家、領導者及環保人士，除了閱讀與討論其生平與成就外，也將探討其面對的挑戰、價值觀，以及對現代社會的影響。課程採互動式教學，透過小組討論、簡短發表及任務導向活動，培養學生英文閱讀、口語表達、批判思考與跨文化理解能力。 [Name: People Who Changed the World] This course explores the lives of influential people from diverse fields who have changed the world through their ideas, achievements, and actions. Through reading authentic life stories, students will explore these figures' cultural backgrounds and examine how they have influenced society, culture, politics, the arts, and the environment. Each unit focuses on a different world-renowned figure, such as film directors, entrepreneurs, political leaders, and environmentalists. In addition to reading about their lives and achievements, students will learn about the challenges they faced, the values they believed in, and their impact on modern society. The course adopts an interactive and student-centered approach through group discussions, short presentations, and task-based activities to develop students' English reading, oral communication, critical thinking, and intercultural competence.
