本課程企圖從動態角度來學習既往與目前重要總體經濟理論學派間的爭論與發展，並達成(1)對物價水準、利率水準、匯率水準、國民所得、就業數量等相關總體經濟變數如何決定，(2)通貨膨脹、經濟成長、景氣循環、貿易赤字、財政赤字、國際收支與體經濟政策彼此間有何關係的學習目的。課程內容主要涵蓋下列課題:(1)Dynamic Stability、(2)Rational Expectations and the New Classical Models、(3)Announcement Effects and Investment Theory、(4)Time Inconsistency、(5)The Optimizing Model and Permanent Income Hypothesis、(6)Exogenous and Endogenous Growth Theory、(7)Money and Endogenous Growth、(8)Real Business Cycle and the Belief Driven Fluctuation of Business Cycle、(9)Macroeconomic Model with Imperfect Competition、(10)New Keynesian Model(Wage Bargaining Theory and Efficient Wage Theory)。
