本課程旨在加強博士生研究的理論基礎。本體論、知識論及方法論皆為研究中不可或缺的一部分。透過研讀及討論，博士生能理解政治學中不同領域的背後所隱含的意義、思維及方法。
課程概述
首先，辨別本體論、知識論（認識論）和方法論三者之間的不同。其次，探討政治學之研究發展及相關理論之演進。再者，研究質性和量化分析之內容和特性。第四，練習及掌握如何撰寫學術論文及研究計畫。
