教育目標

The college essay plays a special role in higher education. Composition 3 encourages a student＇s self－directed development and enhanced academic writing skills. working within a rigid framework of formats and conventions such as narrative, biography and travel writing. In addition, this course focuses upon rewriting and working out and upon the typical errors made by individual students. Students will write and share weekly research journals in which the topics related to the social and cultural elements of the primary literary reading text. This semester, Fall　－09 students will read, Slumdog Millionaire, (Vikas Swarup) and examine the culture of India in weekly research journals and discussion.

課程概述

Composition 3 is a third-year required course. As this course is part of the Comp/Oral series, its main aim is to give final shape and polish the skills of the students in writing. Students are taught to write academic essays in various rhetorical styles including essays about literature. Students also have to be able to formulate and pursue intellectual and professional goals. The course will help increase the mental flexibility of the students and they are required to write a research paper on an independently researched topic. This course is taught together with Oral Training 3.
